Last Time

Every year, the day Somerset Creamery opens, rain or shine, snow, sleet, or hail, we go to get an ice cream cone! The first year My Little Boy was a few weeks shy of his first birthday. He really should not have been eating ice cream but I figured a little would be ok...turned out I was right! He loved it, and a tradition was made. We have gone back every year...we look forward to it for weeks and  it's something that we do together, just the tow of us. We are getting ready to go today, and I'm realizing this is the last year it will  be just me and him. Next year his little sister will be with us. Of course I can't wait to meet my Baby Girl..to hold and love her. But,this is a bittersweet time for me, My Little boy is growing up, about to be a big brother and our lives will forever be different. He is going to need to share our attention and love. I worry that he will feel pushed aside. I worry that I will have a hard time dividing my attention between the two of them. I'm sure this is how even mom feels before she gives birth to another baby...But, I didn't anticipate feeling this way. I'm going to do my best to savor these last few months and give him every ounce of attention and love that I can. So, off  we go to enjoy our ice cream cones and hopefully make some happy memories together!!

Change

Change is a funny thing. It can be welcomed or fought. It can be exciting or terrifying, sometimes both! You can pray for it for years, then not be ready for it when it happens. Sometimes, when the change is small you may not see it right away, other times it is so quick it can knock the wind out of you.

My life has dramatically changed over the last few years, I have had to make painfully hard decisions. I had to hope and pray that I was doing the right thing for my family...I had to have faith..that life would change again, this time for the better... and you know what? It did!!!!

Today, I am head over heels in love with my best friend! I have a beautiful little boy who lights up my world, and soon, we will welcome our little girl! I know our lives are going to change again and again....and not all of it will be easy!  I have faith though, that no matter what happens I will always have the love of my family...and knowing that makes "change" exciting and not quite so scary!

Ever have days that bring you back to a different time? Well, the first warmish day of the year brings me back to a much simpler, carefree time. I see a White Pontiac sun fire, two blondes in the front seat...windows down with the heat on, Britney Spears blasting on the radio! They are cruising around having a blast!
